Annual privacy request metrics updated from 2024 to 2025 data
The only substantive change in this update is the replacement of the annual Privacy Request Metrics table (Section 11). The figures now cover January–December 2025 instead of 2024. All other policy text, rights, data collection practices, and disclosures remain identical. The effective date also moved from June 12, 2026 to July 1, 2026.
This change does not affect your rights, how Spotify collects your data, or how it shares your data. It is purely a statistical refresh. Notably, correction requests jumped from 34 in 2024 to 512 in 2025, with 84 denied — a higher denial rate than before. Opt-out requests for tailored ads dropped dramatically from about 29 million to about 3.4 million, which may reflect a change in how requests are counted or processed, but the policy is silent on the reason.
