EU supervisory authority contact now split into two sentences, slightly narrowing guidance
DETECTED · 7/16/2026, 2:01:48 PMThe only change is a small rewording in the "How To Contact X" section. The old text said you could contact your local supervisory authority or the Irish Data Protection Commission in a single sentence. The new text splits this into two sentences: first saying you can contact your local authority, then separately noting that EU residents may contact the Irish DPC.
In practice, this makes no difference to your actual rights — you can still complain to your local data regulator or, if you're in the EU, to the Irish Data Protection Commission. The change is purely presentational: it no longer implies those two options are interchangeable alternatives in the same breath. Non-EU users are unaffected entirely.
“you have the right to do so with your local supervisory authority or X Internet Unlimited Company's lead supervisory authority, the Irish Data Protection Commission”
OLD · The original phrasing presented both options as equivalent alternatives in a single clause.“you have the right to do so with your local supervisory authority. If you live in the European Union, you may contact X Internet Unlimited Company's lead supervisory authority, the Irish Data Protection Commission”
NEW · The new phrasing separates the options and limits the explicit DPC mention to EU residents only.
