Twitch collects a broad range of information about you. When you sign up or use the service, you hand over things like your name, email, date of birth, phone number, billing details, and any content you create (streams, chat messages, clips). Even if you just browse, Twitch automatically captures your IP address, device type, browser, and how you interact with the site. If you attend an in-person Twitch event, your badge may be scanned and you may be photographed or recorded for promotional use.
How Your Data Is Shared
Twitch is owned by Amazon, and your data is shared with Amazon and its many subsidiaries. That means your Twitch activity can be combined with Amazon customer data to improve both companies' products and advertising. Twitch also shares your data with third-party service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising), advertisers and ad networks (including sharing your email address to "match" you with their existing profiles), and any third-party game or app you connect to your account. If you allow an exhibitor at a live event to scan your badge, your data moves to that exhibitor and falls under their privacy policy, not Twitch's.
Advertising and Tracking
Twitch works with outside ad networks that can track you both on and off Twitch. These advertisers may receive your IP address automatically when their ads load, and they use cookies and device identifiers to build a picture of your behavior. Twitch explicitly states it does not honor browser Do Not Track signals. You can opt out of some ad targeting through Twitch's Privacy Choices page, but tracking by individual advertisers is outside Twitch's control.
Your Rights and Account Deletion
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data through Twitch's Privacy Choices page or the Contact Support page. If you close your account, Twitch deletes what it is not legally required to keep — but some data may be retained for tax, legal, or other legitimate purposes without a clear time limit stated. Twitch says it will respond to requests within 30 days. Children under 13 (or a higher local minimum age) are prohibited from using the service, and Twitch will delete their data if discovered.
