Ring Privacy Notice Summary

Ring (owned by Amazon) collects a wide range of personal information when you use its doorbells, cameras, and related apps. This includes your name, address, payment details, Wi-Fi network info, device location, and — most significantly — video and audio recordings captured by your Ring devices. Ring also tracks how you use its websites and apps using cookies and similar tools, and may show you targeted ads based on your browsing behavior across the internet.

Ring shares your data with Amazon affiliates, service providers (for marketing, customer support, analytics, and storage), business partners in the "Works With Ring" ecosystem, and third-party payment processors. It can also hand over your data to law enforcement if required by a court order or subpoena — or even proactively if Ring decides disclosure could prevent harm. If Ring is sold or merged, your data goes with the deal.

Your video recordings are kept for the duration of your active Ring Subscription Plan, and you can delete them manually at any time. However, any recordings you share to Ring Neighbors are retained separately, regardless of your subscription status. The policy does not specify a clear retention period for most other types of personal data.

You can opt out of promotional emails and adjust cookie/ad preferences through Ring's Control Center. Depending on your state, you may have the right to access or delete your personal data. Ring does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, and its websites participate in ad networks that track you across multiple sites.
