What Is This?

This is the Terms of Service for Ground News (run by Snapwise Inc., based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada). It governs your use of the Ground News website and mobile app, whether you browse for free or pay for a Vantage, Premium, or Pro subscription.

Your Subscription and Money

Paid subscriptions auto-renew automatically unless you cancel before your renewal date. Subscription fees are non-refundable — even if you cancel mid-period, you won't get a pro-rated refund. Prices can change at any time. Importantly, canceling your Ground News account does not automatically cancel your subscription billing; you must cancel separately.

Content You Post

Anything you post on Ground News (comments, forum posts, etc.) is treated as non-confidential, and you give Ground News — and its third-party partners — a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, republish, and commercialize your content in any medium, forever. They can also credit your name, email, or screen name publicly alongside your posts.

Disputes and Legal Rights

This is a Canadian-law agreement (Ontario). If you have a dispute with Ground News, you must resolve it through private, binding arbitration in Toronto — not in court — and you waive your right to join a class action. You also have only 6 months from when a problem arises to raise a claim, which is much shorter than typical legal deadlines. Ground News' maximum financial liability to you is capped at what you paid during the subscription period when the issue arose.
